Film sets from recent times and films from the past. Two visual styles here, both have a futuristic look here however although they are set in the future, there is still a retro feel to the older examples. Its interesting to see the way that the past decades perceived the future to look.

Semester 2 - Initial Statement
Semester 2 - Initial Statement
This term I will be creating a futuristic 3D Environment for games.
For my semester 2 project, I was considering continuing with my project from semester 1 and refining it by adding more detail. My previous project involved recreating a piece of 2D artwork into 3D, that could be used within a game. I was pleased with the final outcome of my semester 1 project, but there were areas that could have been improved. For example, I should have increased the amount of props in the the scene to fill it out a bit more, as the space did feel a bit empty. Also improvement on texturing and the use of various texture maps (normal, diffuse etc.).
This term I have made the decision to start from a clean slate. Semester 1 taught me a lot, and I want to use that knowledge to increase the quality of my work. I feel I am a lot clearer on the texturing process but there is still much to learn.
The project I will undertake is very similar to my previous one, but in a different time period. My previous project was set in the past, with a fantasy/medieval theme to it but this time I'm going to go for a more futuristic look. I will be taking inspiration from Sci-Fi films, games and artwork from this genre.
