Perspective drawing
After a long summer you could say my drawing skills were a bit rusty at the beginning of this task, I found that I could easily capture depth and remembered point perspective however I was having a little trouble placing things on the paper.
This was my first attempt in the Students union, the table tops was where i found it most difficult. I had got my angles and projection lines a bit mixed up and didn't lay out the drawing correctly on the paper. I think this is why i struggled to finish the drawing so i took another attempt in another area.
My second attempt took place in the white space, this time I just wanted to focus on the depth and shape of the room I was looking at, minus all the sofas, tables etc.
It is a simple drawing of the perspective, but I wanted to take it to the bare minimal to ensure i got it correct.
I then began more 2 and 3 point perspective drawings. I drew a block and began extracting shapes from it, I found this little exercise quite helpful as sometimes looking at all the lines on the paper can get confusing, but once you get your head around it, it gets easier and you begin to understand where certain points lead to.
After I felt that I had got the hang of that I tried adding curved shapes, this drawing is a possible idea for my other project and will most likely design it on maya (Tank). I'm just making the basic shape for now though.
So after being a bit confused and struggling with my perspective, I manged to gain a good level of understanding in only a few drawings, because if you look at my first attempt, then go on to my last two, there is a huge difference.
